Installing a new version

You install a new version over the old one. Users, settings and work are kept.

  1. Ask the employees to pause their work for a moment (KoonScan is unavailable for a few minutes during the update).
  2. Download the new KoonScan-Setup-<version>.exe from the customer portal → Downloads → Windows installer and start it on the server (More info → Run anyway → Yes, as with the installation).
  3. The program recognises the existing installation and does not ask for a folder or port. Click Next > and Install.
  4. Click Finish.

Does it stop working after the update? Back to the previous version#

  1. Click the Windows start button and look for the folder KoonScan.
  2. Click Restore previous version and click Yes at the Windows prompt.
  3. Wait until the window says it is finished and press Enter. The previous version is running again. Report the problem to KoonSystems.

With every update the installer keeps the old version in C:\KoonScan\backup (the last three). Restore previous version puts back the most recent one; with the zip package: .\Update-KoonScan.ps1 -Rollback. Your settings, certificates and database are not touched.
