Preparing
Make sure you have everything to hand before you start. Fill in the data sheet below (or ask your SAP partner for the details). Then you do not have to look anything up during the installation.
What you need#
- ☐ A Windows computer (Windows Server, or Windows 10/11, 64-bit) in the same network as SAP. Often that is the SAP server itself.
- ☐ A Windows account with administrator rights on that computer (you must be allowed to install programs).
- ☐ Internet on that computer, only if you choose SQL Server Express in the installer (more than 50 scanners at the same time; about 300 MB). The standard installation with a database file needs no internet.
- ☐ The installation file
KoonScan-Setup-<version>.exe. You download it from the customer portal portal.koonsystems.com → Downloads → Windows installer (chapter 2). - ☐ The details from the data sheet below.

| Your employee number in SAP | In SAP: Human Resources → Employee Master Data, the number at the top (not the external number). | |
| Licence key | In the customer portal → Licences → your licence → Copy key (starts with KoonScan-). Can also be later. | |
| A PIN for yourself | 4 to 8 digits, not too simple (not 1111 or 1234). Remember it, do not write it down. |
